AI Enablement Intern

Work from US-based home (Remote) or any of our offices - Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX
Part Time Internship

This is not a traditional “shadow and learn” summer internship. As an AI Enablement Intern at ConnexPay, you will work directly with the Chief Security & AI Enablement Officer to drive adoption of AI across every function of the company — and to deliver real AI-powered products for business teams that need them. ConnexPay has made a deliberate bet on AI. Our Security & AI Enablement team owns that program company-wide, which means this internship reaches everywhere: HR, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and beyond. You will help employees get real value from AI tools, build the knowledge infrastructure that makes adoption sustainable, and contribute directly to software projects being built with AI-assisted development. Our internship model is intentionally hands-on and AI-first. You will be given real problems, real stakeholders, and real responsibility. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply curious about AI, resourceful in how they apply it, and motivated to see their work have an actual impact.

Get To Know ConnexPay

Founded in June 2017, ConnexPay is the first payments company to seamlessly combine both PayIns and PayOuts into a single global platform that is transforming modern e-commerce. The flexibility of ConnexPay’s technology allows clients to manage all of their B2B payment needs, from acquiring sales, managing fraud, and paying suppliers. ConnexPay’s solutions are applicable across a broad spectrum of corporate payment use cases, including global travel, ticketing, insurance and warranty claims, loyalty and rewards, and media and advertising. The company’s technology reduces payment risk and lowers the cost of payment acceptance. Through our people, ConnexPay is poised to become the industry leader in payments.

We are proud of our culture, where we focus on employee engagement and customer satisfaction. Here our people feel comfortable voicing their opinions, which helps us build a safe environment for all. We are customer focused and truly believe that behaviors drive our culture — and our culture drives our results — always working as one team to win.

Key Responsibilities

This is how you'll help us succeed

What You Will Work On

Company-Wide AI Enablement:

  • Expand the ConnexPay AI-MCP Server rollout from beta to full organization — user onboarding, install support, adoption tracking, and feedback triage across departments
  • Buildout the AI Enablement Confluence knowledge hub: how-to guides, prompt libraries, and use-case documentation that employees across ConnexPay can actually use
  • Assist with AI training materials for ConnexPay leadership and business teams —session prep, guides, decks, and follow-up resources
  • Triage AI tool requests and questions from employees — serve as a connective link between the AI Enablement team and the rest of the company

AI Product Work:

  • Work alongside Chief Security & AI Enablement Officer and Claude Code to design and build internal AI-powered tools for ConnexPay business teams — translating business requirements into working software using AI-assisted development (current project: internal Applicant Tracking System)
  • Identify and prototype AI automations for teams across the company — reporting, workflows, repetitive task elimination
  • Contribute to new internal AI workflow ideas: MCP tool concepts, prompt templates, cross-team automations

Operations:

  • Assist with AI billing and usage reporting — track tool spend and adoption across the organization to help inform investment decisions

How You Will Work

This role operates in an AI-first model. You will receive requirements, context, and access to relevant systems, and are expected to use Claude and Claude Code as primary productivity tools to scope, draft, iterate, and deliver working output. Familiarity with Claude or similar AI tools is required — and genuine enthusiasm for working this way is more important than any other qualification on this list.

You will work closely with our Chief Security & AI Enablement Officer day-to-day and directly with department stakeholders across ConnexPay on specific projects. You will also interact with the broader AI intern cohort across the summer.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role will have:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (any field)
  • Genuine curiosity about AI — you use it, follow it, experiment with it, and have opinions about where it’s going
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or equivalent AI tools — in real work, not just casual use
  • Strong written communication — requirements will come in writing and your output is expected to be documented clearly for non-technical stakeholders
  • Organized self-starter — you don’t wait to be told what to do next; you figure it out and flag when you’re stuck
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity — this is a new role at a company still building its AI playbook; you’ll help define it
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Confluence, Outlook, Teams) a plus
  • Prior experience using AI tools to build or ship something — even a small, messy project — a plus
  • Interest in prompt engineering, AI workflows, or internal tooling a plus
