We’re looking for a Software Development Manager who is excited and passionate about bringing new products to market. You’ll have the opportunity and responsibility to coordinate a team of software developers in delivering best in class solutions to the market. You will participate in feature requirements, architecture and design, implementation, and customer integrations. You will also spend 25-30% of your time on hands-on coding activities. You’ll join a team of talented engineers working in a fast-paced, agile environment, developing a groundbreaking, multi-tenant, cloud-based payments platform. This role will report into the Director of Development.

Key Responsibilities

This is how you'll help us succeed

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performance culture with clear expectations, regular 1:1s, and meaningful career development.
  • Own delivery across the full software development lifecycle — from requirements and architecture to implementation, QA handoff, and production release.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, and QA to translate business requirements into well-scoped, executable engineering plans.
  • Lead team into following best practices in CI/CD pipeline, automated testing, observability and security standards like PCI DSS-compliance.
  • Contribute directly through hands-on coding (25–30% of time), including code reviews, prototyping, and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Monitor system health and participate in on-call rotation, contributing to incident response, root cause analysis, and production reliability improvements.
  • Provide timely updates on team status to Senior Leadership.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or related/equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a software development manager
  • 8+ years of experience building enterprise applications using .NET technologies: ASP.NET, .NET Core, MVC, C#
  • 8+ years of experience with front-end technologies: Angular, React, JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSS
  • 8+ years of experience with SQL Server including writing optimized stored procedures and user defined functions
  • Strong understanding of Architecture Principles
  • Strong understanding of Azure
  • Ability to work closely with on-site and off-site teams in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong and proactive work ethic
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with Git or comparable source-control tool

Desired Skills

  • Prior experience in the payments or financial services industry
  • Experience with Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket)
  • Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation tools, such as Team City, Octopus Deploy or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with or good understanding of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Github Copilot or Cursor)
